Service Description

When we feel disembodied, our nervous system regulation can be significantly affected. Disembodiment refers to a sense of disconnection from our physical selves or a feeling of being detached from our bodies. This state can arise due to various factors such as trauma, stress, dissociation, or even certain mental health conditions. How would I know if I am disembodied/ungrounded? The autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary bodily functions like heart rate, breathing, and digestion, can become dysregulated. Disembodiment may lead to imbalances in the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) branches of the ANS. For example, someone feeling disembodied might experience heightened arousal or anxiety (sympathetic dominance) or conversely, feel numb or disconnected (parasympathetic dominance). So...you know you want to move your body, but maybe you don't know where to start! You are unsure if you need nervous system regulation or to scream, receive, dance, cry, loudly exhale, meditate, stretch, palpating, tapping, grounding, find your center, release, affirm, surrender, lie down, feel, contain, expand, contract, or find stillness...or maybe all of the above. All you have to do is show up, and we go from there. The intention of this specific session is to move some energy in order to cultivate more awareness and spaciousness within the body and mind to allow whatever wants to show up to arise. Think, a Core Energetics somatic + coaching session, but more of a one-off, "let's turn off the mind & explore the body to see where it wants to take us TODAY, let loose, and see what's present...right now." This is also a great way to dip your toes into the world of embodiment. This session can be virtual or in person.

To cancel or reschedule, please contact 24 hours in advance. Deposit will be withheld if canceled without rescheduling. If rescheduled once and you cannot make the rescheduled date, 50% of the booking will be withheld.
